Meet Adzua
I'm Adzua, a Yale graduate, travel expert, polyglot, and self-care enthusiast who has spent twenty years exploring five continents and learning what it actually means to take care of yourself in the world.
My love affair with travel began at nine on a family trip to Niagara Falls. It grew through ecotourism projects in Costa Rica, language immersion in Mexico and Argentina, and transformative homestays in Brazil, Vietnam, South Africa, and Spain. I have surfed in Cape Town, navigated train stations alone in Tarragona, and learned to barter in local markets in Chiang Mai.
Along the way I discovered something the itinerary guides do not cover. The world is full of doctors, clinics, beauty providers, and wellness practitioners who will take better care of you than what you have access to at home. Particularly if you are a Black woman who has spent years being underserved by a healthcare system that was not built with you in mind.
verdant earth exists because of everything I have learned moving through this world as a queer Black woman. It is the guide I wish I had. A resource built on real research, real relationships, and real experiences — including the health screening in Seoul that found something my American doctors never did.
